iB Care is committed to protecting personal data and to meeting our obligations under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This page summarises how we put data protection into practice. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
We treat the personal data of clients, care professionals and website users lawfully, fairly and transparently. Data protection is built into the way we recruit, vet, place and pay staff — not bolted on afterwards.
We rely on performance of a contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests, consent and — for special category data such as health information — the employment, social-security and safeguarding conditions under Article 9. The basis for each activity is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We uphold every right the UK GDPR provides — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and rights around automated decisions. Requests are handled free of charge and answered within one month.
Where third parties process personal data on our behalf (for example IT, hosting or payroll partners), we put a written data-processing agreement in place and only work with providers that offer sufficient guarantees of compliance.
We maintain procedures to detect, report and investigate personal data breaches. Where a breach is likely to result in a risk to people's rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and, where required, the individuals affected.
Our people receive data-protection and confidentiality guidance appropriate to their role, and access to personal data is restricted on a need-to-know basis.
